In this project I am showing the possibilities in recycling footballs and how valuable the materials used in football production are. If i can design functional football boots out of discarded footballs with my mother´s old sewing machine and hardly any experience in sewing I believe it is possible to make all textile products using discarded footballs.

Around 40.000.000 footballs are produced every year exlusively by FIFA (the Fédération Internationale de football association). 80% of all footballs are produced in Sialkot, Pakistan with toxix chemicals with most footballs shipping to the western world. After a football has been sold it has an average, short lifespan of 1-2 years, by then most footballs are either thrown away, or forgotten in storage.
